Johan Gustafsson signed an entry-level contract with the Wild, meaning he won't go back into the draft next month.

The 20-year-old goalie from Koping, Sweden, was the team's sixth-round choice in 2010. He led Sweden to the gold medal at the world junior championships in January.

Gustafsson had a 1.68 goals-against average and .932 saves percentage for Lulea HF in Sweden's Elite League last season. The 6-foot-1, 187-pounder was second in the league in goals-against average.

The Wild had until tomorrow to sign Gustafsson or he could have returned to the draft, which is June 22-23 in Pittsburgh.

The signing of Gustafsson was a bit of a surprise, as you read from Russo recently.
