Senior Nick Rice rushed for more than 300 yards and three touchdowns Saturday night, leading undefeated Elk River to a 60-36 victory over Alexandria in a Class 5A quarterfinal game at Husky Stadium in St. Cloud.

Rice opened the scoring with a 58-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. The Cardinals recovered a fumble and tied the score on a Jaran Roste touchdown pass to Cody Faber.

The Elks (11-0) took the lead for good when Rice ran 35 yards for his second touchdown of the quarter. Elk River's Sam Gibas ran for two TDs.

Elk River will play Owatonna in the 5A semifinals Friday. All state semifinal games will be played at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Class 3A

Rochester Lourdes 30, Jackson County Central 0: Noah Hillman ran for three touchdowns and threw for another to lead the Eagles past the Huskies in St. Peter. The Eagles (11-0) will face Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton in the semifinals Saturday.

Pierz 34, Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin 0: Lane Girtz rushed for two TDs and Logan Lease returned an interception 50 yards for a touchdown to spark the Pioneers (10-1), the defending Class 3A state champion, to a victory in Brainerd. The Pioneers will play St. Croix Lutheran in the semifinals Saturday.

Class 2A

Caledonia 58, Lakeview 16: Caledonia, the defending Class 2A state champion, rolled to a 44-8 halftime lead en route to a quarterfinal victory in St. Peter. Ben McCabe rushed for 212 yards and three TDs and Owen King threw five TD passes for the Warriors (12-0). Caledonia will face Barnesville in the semifinals Friday.

Class 1A

Browerville-Eagle Valley 40, Mahnomen 28: Dalton Butler rushed for two touchdowns, including the go-ahead score in the third quarter, and added another receiving to lead the Tigers past the Indians in Bemidji. Quarterbacks Bryce Irsfeld and Brady Emery combined for five touchdowns for the Tigers. The Indians' Mitch Foss rushed for two touchdowns, including a 63-yarder, and Brian Schoenborn threw for two scores. The Tigers (9-3) will play Rushford-Peterson in the semifinals Saturday.

Wabasso 22, Braham 0: Jared Welch and Mitchell Fulton combined for three rushing touchdowns and the Rabbits shut out the Bombers at Husky Stadium in St. Cloud. The Rabbits (11-1) will play Minneapolis North in the semifinals Saturday.
