Nick Pieruccini passed for 188 yards and two TDs and ran for 118 yards and a TD to lead Minnesota State Mankato to a 28-14 NSIC interdivision victory over Minnesota State Moorhead on Saturday in Mankato.

The Dragons (2-2) grabbed a 7-0 lead in the game's first three minutes, but the Mavericks (3-1), ranked No. 21 in Divisiov II, responded with 28 unanswered points.

Under Pieruccini's direction, the Mavericks offense was balanced — 176 yards on the ground and 180 in the air. Pieruccini's 1-yard TD run on the first play of the fourth quarter gave the Mavericks a 20-7 lead, and his 74-yard TD pass to Shane Zylstra with 6:58 remaining made it 27-7.

The Mavericks defense forced four turnovers. Mat Andriano, Corey Brent and Marcus Gooden each had an interception and Alex Goettl recovered a fumble for the Mavericks.

Wayne State 23, St. Cloud State 22: Zach Osborn's 45-yard TD run with 42 seconds remaining rallied Wayne State (1-3) past the visiting Huskies (1-3).

Osborn's TD and Ethan Knudson's PAT gave the Wildcats a 23-14 lead. But on the ensuing possession, Nate Meyer completed a 61-yard TD pass to Sam Hartman to pull the Huskies within 23-20 with 20 seconds remaining. Meyer threw a two-point conversion pass to John Pass to make it 23-22.

The Wildcats recovered the Huskies' onside kick and held on.

Northern State 31, Concordia (St. Paul) 7: Christian McAlvain rushed for 157 yards and a TD and threw two TD passes to pace the Wolves (2-2) past the Golden Bears (2-2) in Aberdeen, S.D.

The Wolves rushed for 322 yards and had a 39:05-20:55 advantage in time of possession. The Wolves outgained the Golden Bears, 439-195.

SW Minnesota State 47, Minn.-Crookston 13: Max Simmons, a freshman from Bloomington, rushed for 112 yards and tied a school-record with four rushing TDs to lead the Mustangs (3-1) to the victory in Crookston, Minn., over the Golden Eagles (0-4). The Mustangs had a season-high 32 first downs and 594 yards in offense.

Winona State 51, Mary 0: Paul Preston rushed for 146 yards and three TDs, and Jack Nelson passed for 279 yards and two TDs to fuel the Warriors' (3-1) victory in Bismarck, N.D., over the Marauders (0-4).

Northwestern (Roseville) 38, Martin Luther 20: Kyle Anenson rushed for two TDs, and Andrew Smith returned an interception for a TD to spark the host Eagles (4-0) to the victory past the Knights (0-4).

St. Scholastica 49, Crown 13: The host Saints (3-1) built a 42-0 lead en route to the victory over the Storm (1-3). Kyle Stepka passed for 204 yards and three TDs.

Macalester 34, Grinnell 0: Cody Petrich passed for 298 yards and two TDs and Jeremy Stephan rushed for 94 yards and two TDs to lead the host Scots (3-1, 2-0 Midwest) to victory over the Pioneers (0-3, 0-2).
