A St. Paul woman, who was drunk when she ran down her boyfriend, pleaded guilty to the criminal vehicular homicide of Mark Urang.

He had called 911 for help moments earlier, and sounds of the car running over him were recorded.

Under a plea agreement, Arlene Priscilla Garcia, 54, had a second felony count of criminal vehicular homicide dismissed in Ramsey County District Court on Monday.

On the evening of Jan. 30, Urang, 50, had called 911 and told a dispatcher that he had been hit by a car near the intersection of Payne and Case avenues "and was fighting with the suspects," a criminal complaint says. He told the dispatcher that he was going to stand in front of their car.

He was able to give the dispatcher the name "Arlene Miller" and her license plate, which is registered to a white Mercury Sable.

Police looked in that area and didn't find anyone. But nearby, on Wells Street between Payne and Edgerton avenues, an officer found Urang sprawled in the street. He was taken to Regions Hospital.

A bartender at Louie's Bar nearby told police that the two had been in the bar, drinking and arguing. They described Garcia as really drunk and acting "crazy" before they left.

Later, police listened to a recording of Urang's 911 call. He is heard describing the suspect as Garcia and her car. Then an argument, a scuffle and the sound of Urang apparently being run over ends the call, according to court documents.

He suffered a skull fracture and massive hemorrhaging, and died the day after he was hit.

Sentencing is set for April 25.
