A 35-year-old St. Cloud woman was fatally struck by a pickup truck around midnight Saturday when she walked into traffic on eastbound Interstate 94 at Nicollet Avenue, authorities said.
Shawna Anthony was traveling in a car that had pulled over on the right shoulder, according to the State Patrol. She left the car and was struck by a pickup truck around 12:16 a.m. in the right center lane.
Nicholas Pederson, 31, of Lakeville, who was driving the pickup truck, was not hurt. Alcohol was detected in Anthony, but not in Pederson.
Authorities have not yet reported why Anthony left the vehicle or with whom she was traveling.
