ST. CLOUD, Minn. — St. Cloud health officials confirm a second skunk with rabies has been found in the city.

St. Cloud Health Director Lisa Schreifels says the skunk had not had any human or animal contact.

Schreifels says the skunk found this week was acting lethargic. Animal control officials were able to capture the skunk before it had contact with anyone.

Last week the city announced that another skunk was found and tested positive for rabies. A dog was potentially exposed to the virus and received a rabies booster shot as a precaution.

The St. Cloud Times (http://on.sctimes.com/10xjHmc ) reports both skunks were found on the south side of St. Cloud.

Schreifels says it serves as a reminder for pet owners to keep their pets up to date on their rabies vaccination.
