In honor of Suzy Greenberg's enthusiastic contributions to the Twin Cities arts community, Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak has declared September 10, 2012 to be Suzy Greenberg Day. An artist who selflessly championed and guided the careers of others, Greenberg died suddenly of natural causes on August 16.

A public open house and tribute to her will be held at Soo Visual Art Center (SooVAC gallery) and the CC Club from 4 p.m. - 10 p.m. on Monday, September 10. SooVAC gallery is at 2638 Lyndale Av. S., Mpls.

SooVAC gallery will stage a show of Greenberg's art curated by Lars Mason, gallery advisor and collaborator from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Individuals wishing to loan art by Greenberg should contact Carolyn Payne, Executive Director of SooVAC at carolyn@soovac.org or 612-871-2263. Drop-off dates for the art are posted below.
