A term of 30 years is the sentence for one of four people charged in the shooting death of a Minnetonka High School student in a St. Paul alley.

Christopher R. Calloway, 33, of South St. Paul, was sentenced to a 19-year term on a second-degree murder charge in connection with the death of 16-year-old Samantha Burnette last fall. Tacked on was another 11 years for first-degree robbery in the same encounter. He pleaded guilty to both counts in May.

With credit for time in jail since his arrest, Calloway will spend the first 19½ years in prison and serve the balance on supervised release.

Davonte Bobo, 24, of West St. Paul, and Vincent R. Harris, 30, of St. Paul, have also pleaded guilty to their roles. Bobo received a term of nearly 21 years for murder, while Harris received just shy of eight years for robbery.

Kalisa C. Smith, 29, of South St. Paul, pleaded guilty to murder and is scheduled to be sentenced next week. Smith, who allegedly drove the men to the scene, is accused of setting up the confrontation as part of a robbery plot.

According to the charges, Burnette, her sister Brittany Rock, Smith and another woman were in a car in the 700 block of Sims Avenue on Sept. 25 when the three men approached.

Calloway pistol-whipped Burnette's sister, prompting Burnette to hit him in the head with a liquor bottle, the charges read. Calloway and Bobo started shooting at the same time, and Burnette was killed, according to prosecutors.

In the days after Burnette's death, family described her as an optimistic high school junior.
