The Vikings' Visanthe Shiancoe said during an appearance on NFL Network this month that he feels the lockout and shortened offseason would make it nearly impossible for a rookie quarterback to be ready to play in 2011.

So who does Shiancoe want as his quarterback?

It sounds as if he would be happy if it was veteran Donovan McNabb. Shianoce has had a chance to discuss the situation with McNabb in part because the tight end is training in the Washington D.C., area. And also because they evidently hang out at some of the same entertainment establishments.

"You know what, as a matter of fact, I [saw McNabb] out the other day, and we had a little alcohol talk, should I say, a little alcohol talk," Shiancoe said during an appearance on Comcast SportsNet's Washington Post Live show. "And I told him, 'Hey, look , you know, Minnesota might be a good fit for you'. I think that he would probably agree on that. Who knows if he wants to stay here anymore, right, being in those circumstances? I don't know if he wants to or not, but I wouldn't want to stay here. Speaking for myself, I wouldn't want to stay in this predicament right here."

It has been reported the Vikings are interested in McNabb, although it's impossible to tell the extent of their interest because right now McNabb is under contract to Washington and the Vikings can't talk to the Redskins about a potential trade because of the lockout.
