Shabazz Muhammad's signing was confirmed today by the Timberwolves.

Muhammad, who spent his four year career in Minnesota but was a free agent, got a one-year deal for the veteran minimum of $1.6 million.

He announced the signing Tuesday on Twitter.

Muhammad, 24, averaged 9.9 points and 19.4 minutes last season, starting one game. Over his career he has averaged 9.7 points and 18.5 minutes per game, and set a team record for most 20+ point performances off the bench (23).

With the deal, the Wolves will have Bird Rights, which would enable them to exceed the salary cap to sign him next summer, on Muhammad.

He was Utah's first-round pick in 2013 (14th overall) but was traded on draft night to the Wolves with the 21st pick (Gorgui Dieng) for the ninth pick (Trey Burke).

There are now two open spots on the Wolves roster.
