Eastview gets a big lift from national team star

• EASTVIEW 7, AP­PLE VAL­LEY 0: Hours after rallying Team USA to a 3-2 gold-medal vic­to­ry over Canada in the Women's Under-18 World Championship on Friday night in St. Catharines, Ontario, Eastview's Natalie Snodgrass scored the game-ty­ing goal in the third pe­riod and the game-win­ner 1:47 into o­ver­time for the Lightning in its cross­town match­up against the Eagles on Saturday afternoon. The juni­or had a goal and three as­sists for the Lightning. Ha­ley Ford had four as­sists and a goal. Mol­ly Beck­man com­pleted her hat trick on a pow­er-play goal.

• CENTENNIAL 3, ANDOVER 0: Gabbie Hughes kicked off the Cougars' scoring with a second-period goal, and added two assists. The sophomore leads the state in goals with 39. Maija Amlich scored an insurance goal less than 30 seconds after Hughes. Anneke Linser scored Centennial's third goal, and Anne Juergens saved 23 shots for the shutout.

• EDINA 7, WAYZATA 1: The No. 3, 2A Hornets had seven goal scorers in a rout of the No. 8, 2A Trojans. Anna Klein had a goal and two assists. Eva Hendrikson recorded three assists. Anna Goldstein stopped 14 of 15 shots. Lindsay Czech had the Trojans' goal.

• PRIOR LAKE 7, ROSEMOUNT 0: Katie Huntington scored three consecutive goals in the first period to record a hat trick for the Lakers. Gabby Bergeron added two assists and a goal helping goalie Miranda Pavlish record her first shutout of the season.

• STILLWATER 10, WOODBURY 1: Olivia Arkell and Gina Jablonski both recorded hat tricks to lead the Ponies. Lauren Greeder contributed three assists and a goal to the win.

• CRETIN-DERHAM HALL 5, FOREST LAKE 2: After two periods the Raiders were down 2-1, but they rallied on four unanswered goals in the third period. Erin Meyers scored the go-ahead goal, while Ali Eiden scored the last two goals for the Raiders. Megan Meyers stopped 26 of 28 shots. Madi Nolan and Breija Parent scored for the Rangers.

• LAKEVILLE NORTH 10, SHAKOPEE 0: Senior Max Johnson had a hat trick to lead the No. 9 Panthers past the Sabersin a South Suburban matchup. Spencer Schneider had a goal and two assists. Taylor Schneider had a goal and an assist and Carter Springer earned his first shutout of the season.

• BURNSVILLE 3, FARMINGTON 2: Cade Borchardt claimed the overtime victory for the Blaze when his shot deflected off Farmington goalie Gavin Enright and into the net. Roman Ahcan and Eric Otto scored the other goals for Burnsville. Tyler Jette and John Siebenaler scored for the Tigers.

• SOUTH ST. PAUL 5, WACONIA 2: Sophomore Nathan Brandecker scored two goals and had two assists to lead the Packers' offense past Waconia. Cameron Buhl added a goal and three assists.

• NORTHFIELD 3, ALBERT LEA 0: Junior Ryan Bielenberg recorded his second shutout in three days and third of the season. Jackson Cloud had a goal and an assist to lead the Raiders. Ryan Torbenson and Conner Malecha also scored.

• ST. PAUL ACADEMY 8, ROCHESTER LOURDES 0: Riley Bowman, Jack Johnston and Will Kelly led the Spartans with two goals each. Noel Parker and Matt Dahlseide added the other goals.

BOYS' BASKET­BALL

• MAPLE GROVE 75, MILWAUKEE RIVERSIDE (Wis.) 61: Junior Brad Davison scored 39 points to lead the Crimson past Milwaukee Riverside in the Midwest Players Challenge in La Crosse. The scoring total was an event record. Davison also had seven rebounds and six assists. Center Reed Nikko had 17 points and seven rebounds.

• EDINA 91, ARMSTRONG 62: Senior Will Moreton scored 41 points, outscoring the entire Falcons team 29-25 in the first half. Anders Nelson scored 20 points for Edina. Jubie Alade scored 25 points to lead Armstrong's offense.

• TOTINO-GRACE 84, MINNEAPOLIS SOUTHWEST 71: Rocky Kreuser led the Eagles with 21 points. Ed Chomilo added 15. Sophomore Niko Polydorou had 17 points for the Lakers.

• ORONO 65, BUFFALO 50: Senior Samuel Sustacek led the Spartans with 21 points. Noel Mshihiri and Alexander Kill each added 11 points. Coby Stoe had six steals to and passed for 10 assists. Mitch Gabrilcik scored 21 for the Bison.

GIRLS' BASKET­BALL

• EASTVIEW 72, ST. MICHAEL-ALBERTVILLE 66: In a matchup between two of the top five teams in Class 4A, the Lightning came away with the road victory. Eastview trailed by four at halftime before pushing the offensive pace in the second half. Junior Allie Pickrain scored 26 points, 15 coming on three-pointers. Rachel Ranke contributed another 20. Rae Johnson led the Knights with 23 points, but was charged with nine turnovers proved costly. St. Michael-Albertville was within five with less than a minute to play, but Pickrain secured the victory with free throws.
