High-scoring Wolverines rout lowly Badgers

• MICHIGAN 6, WISCONSIN 0: The No. 16 Wolverines (15-7, 7-1 Big Ten) scored four goals in the opening period to cruise past the Badgers (2-15-3, 0-5-1-1) in Madison, Wis. Dylan Larkin and Zach Hyman scored in the first 2 minutes, 3 seconds, and Tony Calderone and Zach Werenski scored in the final five minutes of the period. Hyman and Werenski scored again later in the game. On Friday, Michigan scored four unanswered goals in the third period in a 7-4 victory. Shots were 19-4 for Michigan after one period, 44-17 for the game. Zach Nagelvoort got the shutout.

• MICHIGAN STATE 2, OHIO STATE 0: The Spartans (9-12-2, 3-3-2-2) swept the Buckeyes (7-13-2, 2-6) in East Lansing, Mich., on goals by Ryan Keller late in the second period and Brent Darnell, on a power play, late in the third. Michigan State goalie Jake Hildebrand made 22 saves for the shutout. Christian Frey had 32 saves for Ohio State which lost 4-1 the first night.

• PENN STATE 5, NORTHERN MICHIGAN 5 (OT, tie): For the second game in a row, the host Nittany Lions (12-7-5) mounted a big rally but on Saturday all they got was a tie after winning 5-4 in the first game of the nonconference series. This time the Wildcats (9-9-6) led 3-0 after the first period. Penn State got within 4-3 after two periods and tied the score at 5-all in the third on Dylan Richard's goal at 13:28.

• NORTH DAKOTA 5, COLORADO COLLEGE 3: No. 2 UND (18-5-2, 9-4-1 NCHC) swept the visiting Tigers (5-16-1, 1-11-1) on goals by five players. Ben Chyzyk got the eventual winner on his sixth goal of the season at 8:41 of the third. It made the score 4-2 North Dakota. Luke Johnson, Stephane Pattyn, Mark MacMillan and Drake Caggiula also scored for UND. Colorado College, which lost 2-1 in the series opener, tied the score twice at 1-1 and 2-2 and then got within 4-3 on Aaron Harstad's goal with an extra attacker with 1:53 left.

• WESTERN MICHIGAN 3, ST. CLOUD STATE 2: The Broncos (11-10-3, 4-7-3-3) scored twice within 1:17 in the middle of the third period to tie and then take the lead against the Huskies (10-13-1, 5-8-1). Carlton Hargrove scored the first goal, Justin Kovacs the second in that sequence. The Huskies, who won 7-0 on Friday, took a 2-0 lead early in the second period on goals by Judd Peterson and Patrick Russell.
