Judd just talked to Sage Rosenfels about his trade to the New York Giants. Here is some of that Q&A:

Q: What is your reaction to the trade?

Rosenfels: "I'm excited. It's one of the traditionally best teams in the NFL so that's exciting and get a chance to work with Eli. He won a Super Bowl and it's one of the greatest cities in the world. It's definitely one of my favorite cities so that's an added bonus."

Q: Who informed you? Rosenfels: "Sometime early this evening Rick Spielman called me and informed me of the trade and wished me the best of luck and that's pretty much it." Q: Are you sorry things didn't work out here? Rosenfels: "I think you go into every opportunity with high expectations and high hopes and I feel like I put all of my energy into having as much success as I could have and this team could have over the course of the last year and a half. I have no regrets about how I approached coming to work every day. The work I put in I don't think I could have done more than I did. I have the utmost respect for those guys on that team. I learned a ton from Darrell Bevell and Kevin Rogers, stuff that I'll try to carry onto anything I can help Eli with or those coaches with. Obviously playing with Brett was a once in a lifetime experience that I'll cherish forever. Not only did I get to watch him play but feel like I got to help him have the success that he had in his greatest year in his career. That's something I took a lot of pride in and I'll cherish some of those games that he had and some of those throws that he had. I felt like I was playing right alongside him sometimes. But I'm excited about this opportunity and hopefully we can have some of the same success that we had last year with the Vikings I can have with the Giants this year." Q: Did you have an idea this trade was coming? Rosenfels: "No. It was fairly obvious with the numbers game something was going to happen and I think it wasn't hard to follow teams that looked like there was maybe a need for some depth at the quarterback position. I think there was probably some thoughts of what teams could possibly be there. I felt like I could be the odd man out. I gave it my all, I felt like I had a great camp. Probably the best camp I've had in my 10 years and I thought I had a really great preseason. I felt like I did everything I could do and I have no regrets." Q: Why aren't you the backup? Do you understand that? Rosenfels: "No, I never had those conversations and I don't get involved in coaching decisions and GM decisions. That's for those guys to deal with. They do what they feel is best for their team. It's not my team. Football is not a democracy. If anything it's more of a dictatorship but that's the way it works. I just tried to do the best that I could do with when I was in there. I wasn't always successful but I thought I had success a lot of times."
