ESPN reported injured Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater's knee surgery will be Thursday, citing a source.

Bridgewater has a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and other structural damage following a noncontact injury in practice last week and is on season-ending injured reserve.

To take Bridgewater's place, the Vikings traded for quarterback Sam Bradford on Saturday by sending a 2017 first-round pick and conditional 2018 fourth-round pick to Philadelphia.

Bridgewater's agent and adviser did not respond for requests to comment.

Bykowski returns

The Vikings added third-year offensive tackle Carter Bykowski, an Eden Prairie native, to their practice squad and released cornerback Tre Roberson from the practice squad.

Bykowski spent last season on the Vikings injured reserve list because of a torn pectoral muscle. He was a 2013 seventh-round pick by San Francisco out of Iowa State.

The Vikings originally signed Bykowski off the 49ers practice squad in December, 2014. His addition comes after two reserve offensive linemen, Jeremiah Sirles and Nick Easton, were unable to practice Monday because of undisclosed injuries.
