WASHINGTON -- Former Minnesota GOP Rep. Michele Bachmann says she feels for Hillary Clinton.

In a Huffington Post podcast dubbed "Candidate Confessional" Bachmann says women presidential hopefuls have to work harder to look good -- or they will be more negatively judged compared to men.

Bachmann ran an unsuccessful bid for president in 2012 -- she didn't make it past the Iowa caucuses. She departed Congress in 2014.

"I really do have great empathy for what Mrs. Clinton is going through, because the hill that she has to climb on -- appearance -- it's just a different hill than men have to climb," she said to Huffington Post. "I'm not whining about it. It's just reality."

The podcasts seek to get unsuccessful candidates for office to tell all about what life was like on the campaign trail.
