SAKE MARY

Makes 1 drink.

Note: This plays off the vegetable notes of sake in a satisfying, savory drink. From Beth Dooley.

• 2 oz. (1/4 c.) sake, chilled

• 3 oz. tomato juice or bloody Mary mix, chilled

• 1 dash soy sauce, or to taste

• 1/4 tsp. wasabi paste, or to taste

• 1 tsp. fresh lime juice, or to taste

• 1 tsp. chopped fresh cilantro, if desired

Directions

Pour all of the ingredients into a highball glass. Stir and garnish with a cucumber or celery stick. Serve cold.

• 2 oz. (1/4 c.) sake

• 1 tbsp. grated fresh ginger

• 2 tsp. fresh lime juice, or to taste

• Sliver of lime, for garnish

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a martini glass and serve garnished with a sliver of ginger.
