With the season up and running and plenty to look for, most Gophers fans will be paying attention to tonight's game vs. Toledo at the Barn (although unfortunately, this one isn't on TV again).
But over the next couple days, there are a couple other games to keep your eye on if you're a Gophers fan:
Florida State vs. Buffalo, tonight at 6 p.m. on ESPN3 (Gophers play Florida State on Nov. 27): Buffa-who, you say? Well perhaps the better question is Florida State who? The 25th ranked team struggled to score against South Alabama in their opener on Friday, eventually getting upset – the worst of the day – 76-71. Not a good start. Buffalo's Javon McCrea is beastly in the post and point guard Jarod Oldham isn't bad either. If the Seminoles aren't on their game, they could be in for another blunder.
Duke vs. Kentucky, tomorrow at 8:30 p.m. on ESPN (Gophers play Duke on Nov. 22): This will be the first test for the Blue Devils, and obviously it's a big one. Duke looked good in its opener against Georgia State, with Mason Plumbee (19 points, 14 rebounds) making the Blue Devils thankful the senior put off the NBA for one more year. Kentucky's freshman – while obviously immensely skilled -- had some freshman moments in their opener vs. Maryland and Duke's defensive pressure could be challenging to overcome. Should be a good one.
VCU vs. Wichita State, tomorrow, 6 p.m. ESPNU: (Gophers COULD play VCU on Nov. 23): The Wichita State Shockers should be weaker after losing critical five seniors, but it's a good early opportunity for the Rams to make a statement. It will be interesting to see how much "havoc" the deep Rams' defense – which led the nation in 10.6 steals a game a year ago --can cause for a team short on veterans.
