The first track from GAYNGS -- the all-star electronic project started by Digitata/Mel Gibson & the Pants' Ryan Olson with members of Solid Gold -- has been issued online via Jagjaguwar, which is set to release the entire album May 25. Titled "The Gaudy Side of Town," the track features Solid Gold's Zach Coulter singing alongside Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) over a whir of synths and slow, slinky beats, which follow the promised 69-beats-per-minute mold that supposedly was used for the entire record. To further hype the record, a series of GAYNGS-"relayted" promo videos (the title of the album is "Relayted") have hit the web. One of them, which is set to the tune of "Gaudy Side," comes with an NC-17 warning. Don't make the mistake I did and take the warning for a joke at your office computer. You can see all the videos here, but I posted one of the tamer clips below. And don't forget GAYNGS' two "Last Prom on Earth" shows May 14 at First Ave before they sell out.

A couple other cool new shows on the First Ave calendar: Edward Sharpe & Magnetic Zeros with excellent opener Dawes on June 6, plus New Pornographers on June 11. Oh, and Korn on May 17.
