Pumpkins will be flying, floating and fancied up, and the giants among them will be gathered to determine the largest of all as part of activities at the two-day Stillwater Harvest that begins at 11 a.m. Saturday at South Lowell Park and adjoining areas downtown.

The giant pumpkin weigh-off kicks off events, and the giant pumpkin drops (from 100 feet) start at 5 p.m. on both days. "We have several pumpkins over 1,500 pounds sitting in patches in the greater metropolitan area," said Joe Ailts of St. Croix Growers Association. "This has been a good growing season for the pumpkins." The pumpkin regatta is at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Other events include pumpkin decorating, a chili cook-off, kid's costume parade, scarecrow contest, sidewalk sales and tasting of local beers and wines. There will be live music both days, including a street dance (no fee) starting at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
