Now that people are thinking about outdoor dining (missing it, anyway), the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) will be holding a public hearing Tuesday into around the Sandcastle food stand at Lake Nokomis.

Plans call for sheltered seating as well as patio improvements.

Sandcastle opened last summer as part of a trend toward varied and high-quality food offerings by private vendors at Minneapolis lakes, following the wildly successful Sea Salt at Minnehaha Falls, TIn Fish at Lake Calhoun and Bread & PIckle at Lake Harriet.

The hearing is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at MPRB headquarters, 2117 W. River Rd. N.
