Wednesday: It's a day of dynamite doubleheaders: two country-music icons and two Americana heroes. Haggard and Kristofferson (above) have enough classics between them to fill three concerts but they're still making commendable new music as Hag's "Working in Tennessee" (2011) and Kristofferson's "Closer to the Bone" (2009) prove. Los Lobos (that's their Cesar Rosas at left) have been favorites at the Minnesota Zoo for years. One of America's greatest live bands, Los Lobos is celebrating its 1992 classic "Kiko" by releasing a deluxe edition (with five extra tracks) as well as a live CD and DVD of the album. Earle, one of alt-country's great forces of artistry, is solo this time, promoting 2011's compelling exploration of mortality, "I'll Never Get Out of Here Alive." (Merle Haggard and Kris Kristofferson: 7:30 p.m. Wed. $58.50-$68.50. State Theatre, 805 Hennepin Av. S., Mpls. Los Lobos and Steve Earle: 7:30 p.m. Wed. $47. Minnesota Zoo, 13000 Zoo Blvd., Apple Valley. 952-431-9500.)
