Police are searching for the suspect or suspects who shot three people near Minneapolis' Uptown neighborhood early Saturday, leaving one in critical condition.

The two shootings happened only minutes and blocks apart from each other, according to a police report.

Officers responded to a call about 2:30 a.m. of a man with a gun at the intersection of 31st Street and Hennepin Avenue S. By the time they arrived, one man had been shot several times in the leg and another in the foot and armpit.

Gunshots rang out nearby only five minutes later, leading people to run away from the area, according to the report. Police raced to the intersection of Lagoon Avenue and Humboldt Avenue S. and found a woman inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck.

All of the victims were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center. The woman who was shot was in critical condition Saturday.

No suspects have been identified. Minneapolis Police spokeswoman Sgt. Catherine Michal said she could not confirm whether the shootings were related. She said the two male victims are not cooperating with police.

Investigators continue to interview witnesses from the scenes, including people who were inside the vehicle where the woman was shot, Michal said. They also hope to review surveillance video from surrounding businesses, she said.
