Of Montreal

8 p.m. • First Avenue • 18-plus • $20

For 19 years, Kevin Barnes and an ever-rotating cast of bandmates have released 13 albums of psychedelic pop as Of Montreal. The current group is on the second leg of a tour in support of its latest record, last month's "Aureate Gloom," which was recorded live in the Texas desert. The rawness of that landscape extends to the lyrics as well. "I might be guilty of sharing or exposing too much of my private life," Barnes said in a news release. "But to me the best albums are those that help people connect with an artist on a deep, human level." The prolific pop band will visit Minneapolis packing an arsenal of glam-rock goodies, from the euphoric and groovy to psychedelic and prog-rock-y. Deerhoof opens. Alex Nelson
