Anderson, Carl Eugene "Gene" of Mounds View, passed away November 16, 2017 at the age 80. Preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Beda Anderson; brother, Stan and sister-in-law, Marilyn Anderson. Survived by devoted wife, Karen (Flipp) Anderson; brother, Russ (Janet) Anderson; children, Scott (Shelly) Anderson, Craig (Yvonne) Anderson, Peter (Melissa) Anderson, Tim (Robin) Sgutt, Lori (Dan) Zeller, Steve (Lenise) Sgutt and Kami Sgutt; 17 grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. A graduate of Edison High School, he was born and raised proud of his Swedish heritage in Nord East Minneapolis. Gene loved spending time with family and friends, and always looked forward to weekly visits with his coffee buddies. He was proud of his family and well known for his wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed cars of his vintage and exploring the world around him with a gleeful wonder of what he would discover around the next corner. He looked forward to road trips and had a special fondness for the North Shore. He will be greatly missed by many. Celebration of Life to be held Tuesday, November 21 at 2 PM with visitation beginning at 1 PM, at Faith United Methodist Church, 2708 33rd Avenue NE, Minneapolis. Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Faith United Methodist Church, The Shriners Childrens Hospital or St. Jude Childrens Cancer Research.
