Lanners, John J. "Jack" age 64, Woodbury, MN. Jack passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 8, 2017 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Preceded in death by his father Fred and his twin sister Janice. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Norma Jean, daughters Tracy (Branden) and Sally. Grandchildren Taylor, Charlotte, Thurston, Greta as well as his Mother Lee and nine siblings: Mike (Mary Kay), Aurelia (Peter), Shirley, Cynthia (Gene), Tom (Carol Sue), Carol, Alan (Deb), Bob and Kathy (Paul), and many nieces and nephews, all of whom will deeply miss Jack's smile and his great sense of humor. As a former Chair of the Metropolitan Airports Commission, Jack helped bring more and better retail choices to MSP Airport. While operating a successful retail wine and spirits business, he served on the Board of the Minnesota Licensed Beverage Association, an industry advocate. Jack also tirelessly served community organizations including the Woodbury Area Chamber of Commerce, Woodbury Lions, Woodbury Community Foundation, Center of the American Experiment, Friends of the St. Paul Library and others. Mass of Christian Burial 11 am Tuesday, November 14 at ST. AMBROSE OF WOODBURY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 4125 Woodbury Drive, with visitation beginning at 9 am. A celebration of Jack's life will follow at 1 pm at the POOL AND YACHT CLUB, 1600 Lilydale Rd, St Paul. Private family interment St. John's Cemetery in Little Canada.
