Kilgore, Linda (Firth) peacefully departed this life on January 22, 2017, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Apple Valley, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her beautiful memory will be forever cherished by her husband of 42 years, Dr. Douglas Kilgore, and their children Douglas (Carly) Kilgore and Dr. Lauren (Russell) Terry, as well as sisters Barbara Gardner and Deborah (Tyler) Rowen, brother Robert (Julie) Firth, and many nieces and nephews. Linda was born in Winona, Minnesota, on September 26, 1950, and grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. She earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska and was employed as an auditor for International Multifoods, and later at Creative Kidstuff and Wells Fargo. She was devoted to her family and loved gardening, reading, puzzles, and travel. She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and PEO (Chapter ES). Her memorial service will be in Des Moines, Iowa, in the spring.
