Mahon, Rev. Ambrose J. age 88, of Edina, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on February 27, 2016. Preceded in death by his parents, John "Duke" and Mary (Connolly) Mahon; brother, William Mahon; sister-in-law, Connie (Bohmer) Mahon; niece, Betty Lou Mahon and nephew, Martin Mahon. Survived by sister, Ruth Mahon; brother, Joseph (Mary) Mahon; sister-in-law, Peggy Mahon; nieces and nephews, John Mahon, Nancy Wyatt (Rick), Diane Mahon, Billy Mahon Jr. (Lori), Suzanne Mahon, Sarah Mahon, Patrick Mahon, Amy Koelfgen, Matt Mahon, Therese Jennings (Tom); grand-nieces and grand-nephews, Jennifer Kemper (Greg), Mitchell and Amber Drong, Meagan Mahon, Jacob Koelfgen, Molly Wilson (Jacob), Laura and Colin Jennings; great-grand nephews, Beckham Wilson and soon to arrive Baby Wilson. Father is also survived by many other family members and loving friends. Father Mahon was ordained a priest February 23, 1958. He served the Archdiocese as a priest at Our Lady of Grace in Edina from 1958 until 1965. Father then served at Nativity of Our Lord in St. Paul from 1965 until 1970. In 1970 he became Pastor of St. Patrick's in Edina where he remained Pastor until his retirement in 1998. Following his retirement he lived in Edina and remained active in his priestly ministry which was so dear to him. His faith and the priesthood were foremost important to Father followed closely by his family and his Irish Heritage. He had great Irish humor and will be deeply missed. Visitation 3-6pm Monday, March 7 at The Church of St. Patrick, Valley View at Gleason Rd, Edina. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30am Tuesday, March 8 with visitation beginning at 9:30am also at The Church of St. Patrick.
