An Oakdale man was sentenced Friday to more than 30 years in prison in the murder of a St. Paul bar owner who was killed over a $20 pool table fee.

Yia Her, 27, was sentenced by Ramsey County District Judge Kathryn Quaintance to about 30 1/2 years for aiding and abetting second-degree murder. He was also sentenced to about 14 years in prison for second-degree attempted murder and 16 years for another count of second-degree attempted murder. The sentences will run concurrently.

A jury convicted Her in March for the death of Vone Moua, 45, the owner of Malina's Sports Bar. Moua was fatally shot in the early morning hours of June 9 after Her became upset that he was unable to use the full $20 he paid for a pool table by closing time. Two other men were injured by gunfire as they helped Moua remove Her and Her's brother-in-law, Cheng Vang, from the bar's premises.

Vang, 23, pleaded guilty in February to shooting the men. At trial, Assistant Ramsey County Attorney Dawn Bakst told jurors that Her was just as culpable in the shooting.

Her and Vang had gone to the bar together. Vang left at one point, but returned when Her began arguing with Moua. Her summoned Vang to return with his gun, Bakst said at trial.

Moua's pregnant wife was at the bar when her husband, a social worker, was killed.

Vang was sentenced in April to about 41 1/2 years in prison for his role in the crime.
