Theft. A rifle was stolen from a home on the 13800 block of Orchid Street NW. There were no signs of forced entry.

Animal complaint. A homeowner on the 1900 block of Eagle Trail was verbally warned after an officer heard their dog barking continuously for 20 minutes. A letter was also sent advising of the city ordinance.

FEB. 1

Robbery. Officers responded to Running Aces Casino & Racetrack, 15201 Zurich St. NE., regarding a male stealing a tip jar. The 22-year-old man was located and arrested.

FEB. 6

Animal complaint. Officers responded to the 8300 block of University Avenue NE. to check the welfare of a bird. The bird was located and found to be fine.

Burglary. A safe was stolen from a home on the 2400 block of Lake George Boulevard NW. Forced entry was through the front door.

Suspicious activity. Footprints were reported in the backyard and deck of a home in the 200 block of Dunbar Way. Authorities believed that the tracks might have been left by a dog.

Assault. A 19-year-old woman was arrested for fifth-degree assault, giving false information to police and trespassing in the 3000 block of White Bear Avenue.

Theft. A can of beer, valued at $1.92, was stolen from SuperAmerica, 2640 Cty. Road I.

Theft. Someone broke into a vehicle in the 1800 block of 29th Avenue and stole $3.00 in change.

JAN. 24

Theft. A bag of groceries was stolen from an unattended vehicle parked, but still running, in the 900 block of County Road D.

OAKDALE

JAN. 20

Theft. Someone tried to steal a dog out of a vehicle parked in the 1100 block of Geneva Avenue. The dog's owner was able to thwart the attempt but the suspect got away in what police later determined was a stolen vehicle.

ST. ANTHONY

Theft. A 39-year-old man was arrested and cited for stealing a pack of cigarettes from SuperAmerica, 3259 Stinson Blvd.

WOODBURY

JAN. 25

Suspicious situation. A resident in the 1500 block of Parkwood Drive was cited for reckless discharge of a firearm when someone in the apartment below him reported finding a hole in his ceiling. The resident said he had accidentally pulled the trigger on his gun when he heard someone kicking on his apartment door.

JAN. 20

Compliment. Police received an appreciative call regarding their proactive traffic enforcement in the area of Woodbury Drive and Hudson Road. The caller said they'd seen multiple drivers nearly causing accidents by running red lights at the intersection.
