Preview: The No. 6 seed Stars defeated No. 2 seed Tampa Bay 2-0 Oct. 20 at the National Sports Center in Blaine. Game 2 of the two-game, total-goal series determines whether the defending NASL champion Stars repeat. The Stars head to Florida with a two-goal finals lead for the second consecutive season.

Stars at a glance: They have lost just once in the past 11 matches. ... The first leg of the finals featured a goal from Martin Nunez late in the 3 minutes of stoppage time. ... Nunez's goal was one of the Stars' 21 shots. ... The Stars were 2-7-5 on the road in the regular season but won both playoff road games.
