A look at the people behind the numbers in area business:

DAN DEROSIER THREE DEEP MARKETING

Title: Vice president

Age: 58

Dan Derosier, vice president of Three Deep Marketing, said the digital marketing agency's new larger St. Paul headquarters would accommodate the company's expected growth for several years.

Three Deep Marketing recently moved into recently renovated space it bought on the second floor of the historic Market House building in St. Paul's Lowertown neighborhood.

The move came after the company's staff had doubled in recent years to nearly 50, Derosier said. The new space, three blocks from Three Deep's former Lowertown home, could house perhaps 85.

Three Deep Marketing, which specializes in online lead-generation campaigns, works with local companies such as Marvin Windows, Red Wing Shoes and Snap Fitness. Larger clients include Nestlé, Gerber, James Hardie and Emerson Electric.

"Billion-dollar-plus companies are coming to little Three Deep to have us go in there and evaluate their online properties," Derosier said.

Derosier, who founded the company in 2003 with President Dave Woodbeck, attributed the company's growth to its success in helping businesses and consumers find their clients online.

"We're creating campaigns that encourage repeat business and drive loyalty," Derosier said.

The company's new offices have more of an "agency vibe," with a small gym, showers and places to play pool and pingpong, Derosier said.

The staff, with a heavy concentration of millennials, favored staying in Lowertown, near amenities including transit, restaurants, coffee shops, bars and the St. Paul Saints' CHS Field, Derosier said.

Q: How has what clients expect from digital marketing changed?

A: Instead of looking for Three Deep to do measurement and reporting, another company to do paid media and another to build them a website, they're looking for a holistic, integrated approach … to drive leads and revenue, which are the top two objectives.

Q: What has helped attract larger clients to your company?

A: A lot of larger companies are separating work in the digital realm and seeking companies like Three Deep because we're very performance-based. We can do assessments in advance of getting engaged with a client to tell them how we would grade them on a scale of A to F and whether we can actually move the needle for them.

Q: Has being in and staying in Lowertown helped employee recruiting and retention?

A: It actually has helped us. There are a lot of new lofts and apartments around this area where a lot of millennials are starting to live. It's been a way to attract local talent. And it's fun down here.
