A Massachusetts hospital worker won the largest single-ticket Powerball prize in Wednesday's drawing — $758.7 million — but players in Minnesota were not totally shut out of the money.

Collectively, Powerball players in Minnesota won $2.85 million, according to officials at state lottery headquarters in Roseville.

One person won $1 million by matching five numbers pulled from the drum but missed the red Powerball. That person bought the ticket at the Pit Stop in Howard Lake. Another player scored $200,000 by matching four numbers and the Powerball. That person, who was expected to claim the prize Thursday, also had the Power Play multiplier.

Two players — one who bought a ticket at a Mobil station in Isanti and one who bought a ticket from Federated Co-Ops Inc. in Scandia — will collect $50,000 each for matching four numbers and the Powerball.

The winning numbers in Wednesday's drawing were 6, 7, 16, 23 and 26, and the Powerball number was 4.

No Minnesotan has won the grand Powerball prize since Paul White took home more than $149 million in August 2013. The Ham Lake man was one of three winners of the $448.4 million jackpot.

On Wednesday, more than 144,537 players holding tickets sold in Minnesota won some sort of prize.

The $758.7 million prize Wednesday was the second-largest U.S. lottery prize, ahead of a $656 million Mega Millions prize won by three people in 2012. Wednesday's big prize is still dwarfed by a $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot split between three winners in January 2016.

Nobody had won the Powerball's top prize since June 10, a period that included 21 drawings. During that time, Minnesota Powerball players collectively won $4,084,276 and had 511,867 winning tickets, state lottery officials said.
