The Gophers women's soccer team defeated North Dakota 3-0 on Friday at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium in an exhibition match.
Simone Kolander, a sophomore forward from Lakeville, scored two goals, one in each half. Josee Stiever, a sophomore midfielder from Cedarburg, Wis., had the other goal and two assists.
The Gophers led 2-0 at halftime and Kolander made it 3-0 in the 71st minute.
Saints fall to New Jersey
The New Jersey Jackals scored two runs in the eighth inning to edge the St. Paul Saints 7-5 at Midway Stadium. Angelo Songco was 2-for-4 with two RBI for the Saints, who left 11 runners on base and committed three errors.
