Baudette area: Solid numbers of walleyes and sauger are being caught on Lake of the Woods. Northern pike have been active throughout the lake. Anglers on the Rainy River are finding walleyes during morning and evening, and smallmouth bass have been active. Sturgeon action on the river has been consistent.

Big Stone Lake: Big Stone Lake is giving up a big number of perch, especially near the east point of Bay View, Buck's Point, Poverty Point and around Cramer's Resort (on the South Dakota side). Most of the action has been in 12 feet of water. and some 9- to 10-inch perch are being caught. A few walleyes are also being caught.

Ely area: Burntside Lake (3 miles northwest of Ely), Lake Vermilion (west of Ely) and Snowbank Lake (northeast of Ely) are producing walleyes. Solid muskie action is being found on Lake Vermilion's Big Bay. Northern pike and some walleyes are being caught on Basswood Lake (on the Minnesota/Canada border northeast of Ely).

Lake Mille Lacs: Northern pike action has heated up with a mix of big and small fish being pulled from the upper third of the lake — especially along weed lines in 10 to 14 feet. Anglers are having similar success casting, trolling or using on live suckers under bobbers. Smallmouth bass action has tapered off.

Northeast metro: White Bear Lake is seeing a good walleye and muskie bite. Walleyes are being caught on the weed edges in 10 feet of water, while muskies are being caught in 20 feet of water on points. Bald Eagle Lake is producing many nice bass and some northern pike. Anglers on the St. Croix River are catching walleyes and smallmouth bass in 8 to 16 feet.

Stearns County: Horseshoe Lake (just south of Richmond) is producing crappies and sunfish. Lake Koronis (near Paynesville) is yielding walleyes in 20 to 30 feet. Eden Lake (near Eden Valley) is producing crappies and sunfish. Anglers on Rice Lake (southwest of Richmond) are finding walleyes in 8 to 18 feet.
