Authorities have identified the 76-year-old woman who drove into the path of a car that sped through a stop sign and was killed in the collision of the two vehicles.
Amina A. Bakar lived about a quarter-mile northeast of Tuesday afternoon's crash scene, 24th Street and 15th Avenue S., on the border of the Ventura Village and Phillips neighborhoods, according to the Hennepin County medical examiner's office.
Two young men who fled on foot from the speeding car after the collision were quickly detained. Police said the men are in their late teens.
