Minneapolis Musical Theatre has announced an ambitious second season in the New Century Theatre on Hennepin Av. in Minneapolis. Announced in collaboration with the Hennepin Theatre Trust, which developed and runs the New Century, the three-show 2013-2014 slate kicks off with "Carrie The Musical," which is based on Stephen King's novel about a misfit with telekinetic powers (Oct. 4-27).

Next up is "Five Course Love," composer, librettist and book writer Gregg Coffin's vignettes about the search for affection (Jan. 24-Feb. 16, 2014).

The MMT season concludes with the area premiere of "Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson," the big, raucous, 2010 rock musical about the nation's seventh president (June 6-29, 2014).

Steven Meerdink (pictured), artistic director of MMT, directs all three shows. Subscription packages, $66, are available online or at 612-455-9501.

The MMT production of "Sunset Boulevard" opens Friday at the New Century.
