Here are three quick thoughts from LEN3 following the Twins' 8-4 win over Texas in which Bartolo Colon went the distance:

SANO UPDATE: Miguel Sano was hit on the left hand in the sixth inning, nearly the same spot where he was hit on July 24 against the Dodgers in L.A. X-rays were negative, and he was diagnosed with a contusion on his left hand. "I'm sure he's going to be a little sore," Twins manager Paul Molitor said. With his swing, he exposes that hand." On pitches up and in, Sano is going to get caught with his hand in the danger zone. Molitor immediately ran to the plate when Sano fell to the ground. "We have all seen broken bones on pitches like that," Molitor said. "He's been able to dodge that a couple times. That one scared me, the way he went down. I was surprised he got up as quickly as he did." I don't expect Sano to be in the lineup on Saturday and maybe even Sunday. It took him a few days to recover when he was hit in LA.

GRANITE SENT DOWN: The Twins had to make room for the addition of Kyle Gibson to the roster, so they sent Zack Granite back to Class AAA Rochester. But Granite acquitted himself well, batting .250 in 19 games. That is deceptive because he off to a terrible start but came around. "I think game-to-game he showed more confidence," Molitor said. "I don't think this game intimidates him up here at all."

DOZIER DINGERS: He was incredibly hot the first half of 2015, then the second half of 2016. But Brian Dozier hasn't had that run of dominance yet this season. But he homered in his first two at bats on Friday, reminding everyone what he can do when he squares up a baseball. "I'd love to see him get on a roll," Molitor said. "It makes our offense flow so much better when he's in one of those hot streaks." Dozier hit his 24th career leadoff homer, fifth this season. And it was his second two-homer game of the year.
