Flames keeping Iginla

Flames General Manager Jay Feaster said he won't ask Jarome Iginla to waive his no-trade clause, especially now the Flames are going for a playoff spot. Calgary acquired Michael Cammalleri on Thursday from Montreal in the middle of the Canadiens-Bruins game.

Iginla was ecstatic after scoring his 500th goal in a game against the Wild on Jan. 7.

"I'm very fortunate to have played as long as I have in the NHL. It's gone by in a blink of the eye," Iginla said.

A Blue for the wild blue yonder Former Spring Lake Park standout David Backes, the captain of the red-hot St. Louis Blues, didn't get invited to the All-Star Game. So he's made other plans.

"I'm going to take my pilot's license test," he said. "I've passed the written test and now I've got the oral [test] and the actual flying test and then I'll get my license. The oral is a couple of hours and then the flying is a couple of hours, so I finally get a full day off and I'll hope to sneak that in."

A vote to keep Parise Maybe Petr Sykora just wants to get back at the Wild for dumping him unceremoniously two years ago, but the Devils forward said Zach Parise, whom the Wild has its eyes on, should be re-signed: "He's irreplaceable to me. Just the way he plays. Night in and night out he gives you 100 percent."
