Catcher Joe Mauer continues to lay low after landing on the concussion DL on Tuesday. Sounds like something is up, but Twins assistant General Manager Rob Antony said the doctors have not, ``found anything unusual," with Mauer since he's returned to the Twin Cities. Mauer was expected to check in with rehab coordinator Lanning Tucker and start plotting a course for his return to action but that won't happen now.

``Joe is at home," Antony said. ``They advise him just to lay low and rest right now. They think the best thing he can use is rest. Rather than going in and seeing Lanning and talking to Lanning about what they might do - since they really didn't have any plans for him to start exercising for a few days they said come in Tuesday and we will go from there."

Mauer took a foul ball of his facemask on Monday against the Mets and has not played since. It would make sense if the Twins proceed very cautiously with their $23 million-a-year player.

Now comfortable that the bone bruise on his left wrist can't be aggravated, Twins manager Ron Gardenhire returned Oswaldo Arcia to the starting lineup. Arcia missed the first four games of this road trip because of the wrist, aggravating the team when he tried to play with it instead of alerting the trainers.

``He's ready to play and he's a excited," Gardenhire said. ``As long as it's a bruise, we're fine with that."

Chris Herrmann is batting .353 over his last four games.

Clete Thomas is batting .300 over his last 10 games.

Outfielder Aaron Hicks (left heel) has been cleared to play at Class AAA Rochester and is expected to be in the lineup tonight.

Righthander Alex Meyer is starting for Class AA New Britain today, his first outing for them since June 1. He returns after battling some shoulder soreness.

In case you missed it, Eddie Rosario was 5-for-5 last night with two doubles and a home run. He began the day batting .287.
