It looks like the "Man in Black" bank robber is digging deeper into his closet.

An armed man robbed a bank in downtown Hopkins Monday evening, and authorities believe he is the same suspect who has hit several banks around the Twin Cities while dressed virtually in all black.

This time, however, the robber traded in his well-worn black hooded sweatshirt for a tan jacket, the FBI said.

"We believe this is the 'Man in Black,'" said Kyle Loven, spokesman for the FBI in Minneapolis. "Apparently, he pays attention to the news a little bit," Loven said. "Obviously, this guy has to be stopped."

In the Hopkins holdup, at the U.S. Bank branch at 16 9th Av. N., the robber showed a teller his gun and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

His description is nearly identical to the perpetrator of holdups in Arden Hills, Minneapolis, Bloomington and Richfield: a white man, in his 20s or 30s, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, and weighing 150 to 180 pounds. He wears a black ski mask and other black clothing. His handgun is also black.

Anyone with information regarding the latest robbery or earlier ones can contact Hopkins police, or the FBI at 612-376-3200.
