A 26-year-old man died late Friday after he was dropped off at Hennepin County Medical Center with severe injuries several minutes after police had responded to a shooting call in south Minneapolis. Police said they believe the shooting and the man's death are related.

Officers responded to a report of a possible shooting in the area of 1st Avenue S. and E. 43rd Street shortly after 10:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers were unable to locate any victims in the area, police said.

The identity of the victim, along with more details about his death, will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office.
