KELSEY, MINN. - St. Louis County sheriff's deputies said a man on his way to work Wednesday was killed when he drove his SUV into a train at a foggy railroad crossing.
The victim was Adam John Sharp, 28, of Kelsey.
Sharp's vehicle crashed into the side of a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train that was stopped at a crossing in Kelsey for mechanical trouble Wednesday. Sheriff's officials say the crash happened about 6 a.m. in foggy conditions. The crossing is marked only with a stop sign.
Citizens at the scene performed CPR until medical personnel arrived, but Sharp died at the scene.
