Yes, Adrian Peterson missed practice Wednesday because of a lower back injury he sustained but returned from on Sunday night in Lambeau Field. No, it's not a big deal, according to Vikings coach Mike Zimmer.

Meeting with reporters before practice this morning, Zimmer was asked if Peterson's injury will cause him to monitor his reps or how he uses him in any way in Sunday's NFC wild-card game against Seattle at TCF Bank Stadium.

"Nah," Zimmer said. "It's the playoffs."

Peterson has typically been rested between games this late in the season. This actually has been one of his healthier seasons. He played all 16 games for the first time since 2012 and hasn't spent nearly as much time on the injury report or sitting out of practice between games as he did that season. Peterson played the last month of that season battling a hernia.

As for this week, Zimmer is just making sure his biggest weapon is well rested come game day.

"He's ready," Zimmer said. "He'll be fine. He's feeling much, much better."

In other injury news, Zimmer said nose tackle Linval Joseph made it through practice Wednesday without any swelling or other problems with the big right toe that has sidelined him in four of the past five games, including the Packers game.

"I think he'll be good to go," Zimmer said of Joseph.
