When one of the most fashionable men in local TV news dons your handmade pocket square during a morning newscast, you know you're onto something.

WCCO-TV morning anchor Jason Derusha snapped an Instagram selfie wearing a light blue gingham pocket square made by new local menswear accessories brand BH Button Co.

"It was one of those really exciting moments when you frantically run to the TV and turn on the DVR," said the company's owner, Sean Besser Hank.

BH Button Co. started in Besser Hank's basement when he had a vision to design the "perfect pocket square, marrying formal and casual into one dapper accessory." He felt other pocket squares were too formal. He also wanted to take the guesswork out of folding them, said Besser Hank, who maintains his pocket squares are simple enough to stuff into a button-up shirt or a jacket pocket. The vintage fabrics come in nontraditional prints, have stitching and a signature button. Made in St. Paul, they sell for $18 on www.etsy.com/shop/BHButtonCo. Learn more at www.bhbuttonco.com.
