Rhymesayers Entertainment will issue one of its bigger non-local releases of recent years on Tuesday: "Hokey Fight" by the Uncluded, the new duo formed by New York indie-rap guru Aesop Rock and Moldy Peaches star Kimya Dawson. It's not nearly as weird as it sounds. A local gig is set for June 30 at the Cedar Cultural Center. … Frequent tour mates Sims and Astronautalis, who've also been house mates since the latter's place suffered a fire in January, will perform together again June 14 at First Ave. Tickets are on sale Friday (and probably only Friday). …

Har Mar Superstar returns home Saturday to play the Turf Club (10 p.m., $12), touting his classic-soul-styled new album, "Bye Bye 17," which dropped two weeks ago on Strokes singer Julian Casablancas' label Cult Records. Spoon drummer Jim Eno helped produce the album. … Heiru­specs will hit the Turf Club again May 18 for its fourth annual scholarship fundraiser concert for students at the band's alma mater, St. Paul Central High. The past three years raised a whopping $12,000. …

Natalie Maines' first album outside the Dixie Chicks, "Mother," lands Tuesday with three Minnesotan-affiliated tracks on it, including one co-written with Gary Louris ("Come Cryin' to Me"), another made famous by Louris' old band ("I'd Run Away") plus her cover of Dan Wilson's "Free Life," which went viral last week. … Louris played a couple of new songs at his Dakota shows on Monday and Tuesday and claimed to be planning a solo record for release by the end of the year. … Following the TC Funk & Soul All-Stars' first gig in a two-night stand Friday at the Dakota, members of the Secret Stash house band will hand around for a late-night set as the Dérobé Dance Band, their new Afrobeat/funk ensemble inspired by all the African records issued on the label (11:30 p.m., $5). …

Reportedly courting some label interest for her mostly completed new album, Haley Bonar will try out some of the new material Saturday at Icehouse and show off her newish backing band, which is basically the same all-star lineup as her side project Gramma's Boyfriend (11 p.m., $15). … Nicholas David Mrozinski is gearing up for his first two post-"Voice" gigs next weekend at First Ave, but don't look for him in town anywhere this weekend. He's headed out to the Kentucky Derby to perform at its Unbridled Eve party and other activities. Dude knows a good competition when he sees it.
