I was not one of those at the recent Vikings game subjected to the ridiculous new "security" bag enforcement, and now probably never will be ("NFL says no to most ‍bags, purses, but sacks still OK," Aug. 9).

The new NFL bag rules have absolutely nothing to do with security; they are intended only for one thing: profit enhancement of concessions. This will generate millions of dollars for the league and for team owners who participate in concession revenue.

Security can be done easily at entrances by bag check and dogs if needed. Keep in mind the bag needed at the Boston Marathon was a large duffel.

This is a pure profit generator, plain and simple, and the sheeplike fans and lackey media are going to let the NFL get away with it.
