Tickets went on sale today (May 4) for Walker Art Center members and SPCO subscribers for two Laurie Anderson shows coming to the Walker Nov. 2 and 3.

The show, "Dirtday!", is billed as "an intimate snapshot of the U.S., shaped as a collection of songs and stories both witty and soulful." Anderson will touch on topics from Darwinism to feminism, from Willie Nelson to alien popes. She says she was inspired in part by the Occupy movement and by the current political season.

The concerts are co-presented by the Walker and the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra as part of their Liquid Music series.

Anderson has been recording and performing for more than three decades, since her breakout "O Superman" in 1980. In addition to seven albums on Warner Brothers, Anderson has recorded for the Nonesuch label.

Tickets to "Dirtday!" ($39) for the general public are available May 17, 612-375-7600.
