Commuters who use either the Mendota or Robert Street bridges to get to work should be fine, but the drive home could be tougher for the next 10 days.

Starting Monday, both routes will be reduced to a single lane in each direction between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily through Nov. 23. The Mendota Bridge carries Hwy. 55 traffic over the Minnesota River between Fort Snelling and Mendota Heights. The Robert Street bridge carries Hwy. 3 traffic over the Mississippi River between downtown St. Paul and the city's west side.

Maintenance crews will be removing loose material coating from the deck of the bridges and conducting repair work, the Minnesota Department of Transportation said.
