Good morning, commuters!

With Daylight Savings Time behind us, commuters will notice that it will remain dark for an extra hour this morning. Sunrise is not until 7:37 a.m. so the first half of the drive to work will take place in the darkness.

So far, that's not having an impact on the drive, but this could be an active day on the roads. The beginning of daylight savings is linked to an increase in auto accidents, according to an analysis by the University of British Columbia and a study by researchers at John Hopkins and Stanford University, according to the Insurance Information Institute.

I'll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
