Good morning, commuters!

We start the Friday rush hour with roads that are in good shape, but that does not mean there won't be some slippery spots out there.

Temperatures are low enough that black ice can form on the roads. To that end, MnDOT has messages to that effect on its electronic message boards reminding motorists to use caution.

So far it has not been a problem. Traffic levels are light at this hour.

I'll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
